The band Groove Gang traces its roots back to the late 1990s and early 2000s when it was founded by the late Beeman Wilson under the name Junior Naio, later becoming Aimos Groove. The band released its first album, Loving God, before Beeman relocated to New Caledonia, where he continued his music career while reuniting with the Vanuatu-based members for major performances and festivals. He also released solo music as Beeman Wilson, including Independent Woman featuring Gramps Morgan.
Following Beeman’s passing in 2013, the band regrouped to honor his legacy by recording the tribute album Bleeding Inside under the new name Groove Gang. Today, that legacy continues through his younger brother, Jr. Wilson, who now fronts the band. In April 2026, Groove Gang released its second album, marking both the band’s latest chapter and Jr. Wilson’s debut album as lead vocalist.
Les racines du groupe Groove Gang remontent à la fin des années 1990/début des années 2000 quand le groupe a été fondé par le regretté Beeman Wilson, sous le nom de Naio Junior, devenu plus tard Aimos Groove. Le groupe a sorti son album Loving God avant que Beemanne vienne s’installer en Nouvelle Calédonie où il a continué sa carrière musicale et où il a régulièrement rassemblé les musiciens du groupe pour des concerts. Il a aussi sorti un album solo dans lequel figurait le titre Independant Woman avec Gramps Morgan.
Après le décès de Beeman en 2013, le groupe s’est rassemblé pour honorer son héritage musical et a enregistré l’album hommage Bleeding Inside sous le nouveau nom de Groove Gang. Aujourd’hui cet héritage se perpétue à travers son jeune frère, Jr Wilson, qui est maintenant le chanteur principal du groupe. En avril 2026 Groove Gang a sorti son 2ème album, marquant un nouveau chapitre pour le groupe et les débuts de Jr Wilson comme chanteur lead.
